Packing Tips for an All-Inclusive Resort

Picture this: You've just been dropped off by your shuttle after landing in Cancun.

As you walk through the front doors of the all-inclusive resort you are THRILLED to be staying at, you see the hustle and bustle of the lobby. Someone grabs your luggage, you fill out an information card, and then you head over to the conceirge desk to check-in to your room.

Wait... It's too early to check-in so your room isn't ready! What next?

Sometimes, the best flights I find for my clients are in the morning. If you have a morning flight and will get to your resort earlier in the day, my top recommendation is to have a day bag ready, so you are able to enjoy your resort before you can gain access to your room!

Below are a few items helpful to pack in that bag, or have in an easy-to-reach location in your main luggage -- You don't want to have your luggage on display for the whole lobby!

Items to Pack

  • Sunscreen
    • They will have this for sale, and it will be EXPENSIVE!
  • Bug spray
  • Sunglasses
  • Swimsuit
  • Flip flops/sandals
  • Hat
  • Insulated cup
    • The resort will give you drinks in little plastic cups, but if you provide your own, they'll fill it up and your drink will stay nice
